BOB CROVELLA
OEM Technical Enablement Manager | Nvidia
At NVIDIA, Bob Crovella leads a technical team that is responsible for supporting the sales of our GPU computing products (www.NVIDIA.com/tesla) through our OEM partners and systems. Bob joined NVIDIA in 1998. Previous to his current role at NVIDIA, he led a technical team that was responsible for the design-in support of our GPU products into OEM systems, working directly with the OEM engineering and technical teams responsible for their respective products. Prior to joining NVIDIA, Bob held various design and engineering positions at Chromatic Research, Honeywell, Cincinnati Milacron, and Eastman Kodak. Bob holds degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (M. Eng., Communications and Signal Processing) and The State University of NY at Buffalo (BSEE). He resides with his family in the Dallas, Texas area.
DAVE MCDONNELL
Global Sales Exec | AI, Big Data Analytics and HPC IBM Storage
Dave is the Global Sales Exec for AI, Big Data, and High Performance Computing for IBM Storage. He works with sales teams and partners to build modern data foundations with manageable cost, hybrid cloud flexibility, and new age scalability. Prior to this, Dave led alliances for IBM Storage for four and a half years and was the Spectrum Scale Global Sales Exec for three years. Dave has spent his career leading business development, sales, and marketing teams in emerging technologies like workstations, Technical Computing, Linux, Cloud, and vertical market solutions. Dave resides in Houston, where he moved while working for Hewlett Packard and leading Americas HPC Sales for 10 years. Dave joined IBM via the acquisition of Platform Computing, where he managed global alliances and business development for OEMs and ISVs. Dave is a graduate of Queen’s University with degrees in Economics (B.A.), Electrical Engineering (BSc), and Business Administration (EMBA).
PIYUSH CHAUDHARY
STSM | IBM Spectrum Scale Development
Piyush joined IBM in 1999. He has spent significant time working in the HPC organization on Spectrum Scale which is IBM’s high performance clustered file system. Piyush spent many years leading the Spectrum Scale development activities focused on enabling analytics and AI workloads. Most recently he has taken on the role of lead architect for transforming Spectrum Scale for cloud native and hybrid multi-cloud deployments.
TAMARA VANDERSLUIS
Vice President Innovation | R2i
With more than 35 years of IT experience, Tamara is one of R2i’s three founders. She has been working in the field of AI for the last five years, running AI use case workshops with customers, building the ROI and defining the expected outcomes and KPIs. ScaleAI accepted her funding application for one of these projects, which is a huge accomplishment. She has finalized several service engagements, building out the AI Roadmap and outlining what processes need to be changed in order to take on high value AI projects and see them through to production. As part of these service engagements, she has had the opportunity to run many interviews with customers around the world regarding their success and challenges in the operationalization of AI. She is a member of the AI Advisory Board for Dawson College and has spoken at the Women in AI meetup here in Montreal. She also had the opportunity to work closely with a large Montreal research lab regarding their AI cluster and leveraging new technologies.
