This webinar will cover why enterprise HPC designs are now key to the deployment of AI, the importance of the right networking designs and finally how to manage the data in the environment and then move it and protect it while supporting regulatory frameworks. The topics covered will also include the advantages of the Nvidia and IBM reference architectures for driving AI performance at scale for the real world. We will also talk about how to leverage InfiniBand offloads, accelerators and GPUDirect storage to get the most out of the platform.

You are invited to the upcoming free Webinar presented by R2i in collaboration with NVIDIA and IBM on June 16th at 11 a.m. EST.

REASONS TO ATTEND:

  • Learn how to deploy AI solutions in the data centre to deliver performance, scale, and reliability
  • Learn the most common AI Infrastructure pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • Drive performance across GPUs and avoid islands of data
  • Facilitate the adoption of new technology like GPUDirect Storage in your AI Infrastructure

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Data Centre Architects, IT Cluster Owners, Data Engineers.

WHY NVIDIA AND IBM?

NVIDIA pioneered accelerated computing, and with its recent acquisition of Mellanox, it is also able to deliver industry leading networking solutions. IBM was the co-inventor of accelerated storage. Together, we have decades of experience in building real world AI solutions that can scale and meet the needs of tomorrow.

Come join R2i, NVIDIA, and IBM and learn about the latest AI technologies from both Nvidia and IBM to understand how these technologies can improve training runtimes, optimize resource utilization and simplify scalability and management of your clusters.

SPEAKERS
DAVE MCDONNELL
Global Sales Exec | AI, Big Data Analytics and HPC IBM Storage
Dave is the Global Sales Exec for AI, Big Data, and High Performance Computing for IBM Storage. He works with sales teams and partners to build modern data foundations with manageable cost, hybrid cloud flexibility, and new age scalability. Prior to this, Dave led alliances for IBM Storage for four and a half years and was the Spectrum Scale Global Sales Exec for three years. Dave has spent his career leading business development, sales, and marketing teams in emerging technologies like workstations, Technical Computing, Linux, Cloud, and vertical market solutions. Dave resides in Houston, where he moved while working for Hewlett Packard and leading Americas HPC Sales for 10 years. Dave joined IBM via the acquisition of Platform Computing, where he managed global alliances and business development for OEMs and ISVs. Dave is a graduate of Queen’s University with degrees in Economics (B.A.), Electrical Engineering (BSc), and Business Administration (EMBA).
CHRIS MAESTAS
World Wide Executive Architect | IBM Systems
Chris is an Executive Architect for IBM File and Object Storage Solutions with over 20 years of experience deploying and designing IT systems for clients in various spaces. He has experience scaling performance and availability with a variety of file systems technologies. He has developed benchmark frameworks to test out systems for reliability and validate research performance data. He has also led global enablement sessions online and face to face, discussing how to best position mature technologies like Spectrum Scale with emerging technologies in Cloud, Object, Container or AI spaces.
REGGIE REYNOLDS
Principal Product Marketing Manager | NVIDIA
Reggie Reynolds has over 25 years of experience in the data storage industry including 10 plus years in HPC storage serving engineering and management roles in Engineering, Quality Assurance and Technical Support. Reggie joined NVIDIA as Principal Product Marketing Manager in October 2020.
TAMARA VANDERSLUIS
Vice President Innovation | R2i
With more than 35 years of IT experience, Tamara is one of R2i’s three founders. She has been working in the field of AI for the last five years, running AI use case workshops with customers, building the ROI and defining the expected outcomes and KPIs. ScaleAI accepted her funding application for one of these projects, which is a huge accomplishment. She has finalized several service engagements, building out the AI Roadmap and outlining what processes need to be changed in order to ingest high value AI projects and see them through to production. As part of these service engagements, she has had the opportunity to run many interviews with customers around the world regarding their success and challenges in the operationalization of AI. She is a member of the AI Advisory Board for Dawson College and has spoken at the Women in AI meetup here in Montreal. She also had the opportunity to work closely with a large Montreal research lab regarding their AI cluster and leveraging new technologies.
